BOEING 737-300 (N166AW)
Adelaide, South Australia, October 1, 1989.
Comments
Adelaide has never had the variety of airlines enjoyed by other states but in 1989 Australian pilots went into dispute with the local airlines, grounding just about all domestic services. In order to get people moving both Ansett Airlines and Australian Airlines were able to lease aircraft from overseas airlines. Among others, Ansett got the services of two B733s from America West, this one and N167AW and those times saw some interesting aircraft in and out of Adelaide including RAAF transports operating for Australian Airlines (government airline in those days).
A pair of 5 * posts, Gavin. I flew on America West from RNO to BOS and back twice before that airline became part of the US Airways system so perhaps I actually was a pax on one of these two. TY for the great pics and the memory jog, my friend. Keep 'em coming, please. (Wave)
Wow...I never knew this was happening back then? Score. Steven Jaskic has never posted photos like this!! 5x!
TYVM Tom. I have a few more - made as much of the time that I could - work got in the way of necessity:)
