Boeing 737-800 (VH-VXR)

With school holiday travel and resumption of pretty much, normal services across Australia, it was still a surprise to find that I’d caught two Qantas flights destined for Melbourne departing at the same time.

VXR, the closer was operating QF676 to Melbourne while VXD behind it was operating QF694.

Officially a "WoW!" capture. Superlative timing & crystal clear! Send this to Qantas and they'll use it in an ad. Waaaaay better than 5 stars. A tip of our spotter's caps to you, Gav.

Thanks Gary. Nice thought about QF but VXR is in the former livery and that is not the current image. VXD behind it is but I don't know if you've heard, QF are going Airbus, no more B73.. I've pondered that it would be probably unlikely QF would re-liverey any of their B738s now in view of the change too. The future too of their B789s has been questioned by some in the aviation community. QF are actively looking into ultra-long haul flights - SYD-LHR and SYD-JFK and Boeing don't yet have a product that can achieve the objectives whereas Airbus do.
