I can't recall, but the shallow angle below the aircraft would suggest I took this from inside the terminal. The ugly scars in the hills were a former quarrying operation. A lot of planted vegetation natural regrowth and some re-sculpting has returned the hills to a better state.
Awesome shot Gavin! Can't hate a good shot of a tri-holer!
Nice shot of Romeo Mike Whiskey in Adelaide. The Ansett 3 crew cockpit in the earlier B727-100 series and also the -200 series had the benefit of the F/E Flight Engineer being a technician who had actually spent a lot of time in the maintenance hangars before they applied for a cockpit role.
Great shot of this beautiful and classic aircraft! Love the B727!
Dean, Chris, Darryl - thank you guys for for your compliments and comments.
I have a correction to info in my first comment. It took a lot of hours to come back to me...there is a mound inside the northern boundary of the airport but in those days was outside the fence and this pic was taken from there. Was a very popular spot, just couldn't remember it - damn this getting older crap!
Thanks rwb. There are plenty more, but it takes time!
Great Shot Gavin, flew on this bird a couple of times!
VERY NICE
Mike and Jeroen...thank you.
Seattle built LN 1030, after delivery 1974 to Ansett, in the early 80s this jet flew with Wein Air Alaska, then Republic, Northwest and back to Wein Air Alaska...before moving on. Great arrival photo worthy of any Vintage Airliner calendar! 5 Aussies!
