De-icing fluid taste like tang.
Really? It ain't made for drinking, yo-yo and it will kill you.
its more of a honey bacon flavor. took plenty of baths in it deicing at the local airport
Sam... is it a glycol based fluid?
cliff
its a 55/45 mix of isopropyl glycol and water heated to 180 degrees F

cliff from my experience deicing, this crew appears inexperienced.
you start at the highest point on the wing, the tip and let the fluid clear the contamination. don't start at the root, same with the tail, you start at the top and work down
wasting a lot of extra deice fluid.
every airline has their own policies but most follow the IATA guidelines

Sam... thanks for the info and clarification. I read you "5x5" on the proper application technique too. Likely some inexperience at work there!
At 22 dollars a gallon inexperience is not welcome
Yes, indeed, it would be an expensive proposition.
(But that pricey fluid keeps 'em flying!)
