John......
As a Cincinnati native, I used to love watching the loaded 747's struggle to climb off the end of runway 27 at CVG. I would watch the action where you are standing. I miss those Sunday afternoons visiting my mom when I would visit from Appleton, WI.
Great shot by the way.

@KEN. Yes, this is truly one of the best spots to spot from anywhere. I just wish there was some more parking! I'm happy the local business owners in the corner don't seem to complain about spotters parking there. Guess they are used to it by now. Anyway, I just went down there on 12-31-23, but it was dead, and the wx sucked. Been three years since I shot there last. Been meaning to get down there more frequently since it is so close to Indy. Come spring I am going to try to get down there quarterly. CVG has a great mix of traffic.
Great capture John although I am partial to any shots at CVG (my home airport) and the Queen is a big bonus.
Great pic as usual, John!
Hey thanks John.........
I may visit that business park just off that wrap around boundary road the weekend of April 6 (weather permitting). intend to see the total solar eclipse from Western OH 2 days later (again weather permitting).
I probably have viewed aircraft from that business park a dozen times and no issue with the business owners. Those pine trees can offer welcome shade on a hot Sunday afternoon.
During the hub years for Delta in the 80's I enjoyed seeing lots of traffic...DC-8's, L1011's and lots of 727's & DC-9s. TWA brought in a number of 707's back then too. You also could plan runways a little easier as 9-27 & 18-36 were the only options back then.
Keep taking those great shots John. Your pics always end up being "Tops" for the week.

@ken kemper...hey, send me a reminder a couple weeks out on your planned visit and I will try to take a trip down there to meet up with you It's only a two hour drive for me, and I am always looking for a reason to run down there. Would enjoy spending some time spotting with you. TTYL!
Thanks Robert and Gunnar! Gunnar, hope you are doing well brother. Good hearing from you again. Are y you living down around CVG now, or do you still live up in the Indy area?
