ENGLISH ELECTRIC Lightning — - This decent example of the English Electric Lightning (first ever aircraft capable of achieving supersonic speeds in a vertical climb) originally belonged to 111 Squadron of the Royal Air Force, which operated the model between 1962 and 1972.  It now resides in the Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum in Southern Scotland, where this shot was taken in February, 2011
