C3002 —
Fort Worth Aviation Museum. Roll out of new, ground-up restored Travel Air 5000. Only passenger version of the aircraft to still exists. This aircraft was operated by National Air Transport (NAT) as its first passenger airplane operating between Fort Worth and Chicago form 1927 to 1931. NAT would later become United Airlines. After removal from service n 1931, the aircraft was gifted to Amon G. Carter, Sr., the owner and publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper. Aircraft will be placed in a new museum in downtown Fort Worth to be known as the Start Museum.
