great pic thanks Peter
Wow nice one
Worked them at Falcon Airways 1979 (KADS)
Brings back a lot of good memories I worked on this old girl in the sixties at Southend Airport
Good shot to.
Good shot to.
Great pic and aircraft! This looks like Auric Goldfinger's transport.
How strange (thank you wikipedia), a flying alternative to car ferries across the channel 3-5, cars at a time. I never knew such a thing existed. Fun!
Crash on Rotterdam Airport,

Looks like a 747 and a DC-6 had a child
Carvair was the name of this lady.
There is dike a few 100 mtrs away from the approach of the runway. This lady was to low in the preparation of his landing and did hit this dike with his landing-gear. It ended upside down just inside the fence from the airport. The pilot died, three crew members + 14 passengers survived. 3 jaquars cars total loss. The company name was painted black just after the accident and before the press arrived.
My dad was a engineer on airport Rotterdam in this period. I earned my first money there by cleaning small airplanes. From the hanger we had a direct view on the scene

Saw one in Gainesville, TX last week. Been there a long time.
Ansett in Australia also operated the Carvair...with an excellent safety record!
