I miss seeing AA's R, W, and B on silver livery. I understand why the change had to be made, but I still miss this paint scheme.

Great photo as usual Gary. Perhaps it's because we remember the great old liveries (yes, even down under I'm familiar with AA) and perhaps it's nostalgic, but many old liveries do seem better than new ones - not always though. In the case of AA, looking at the new grey for me is a second best to this older one. Then there's the even older orange flash on bare metal.

Gavin, by mentioning that scheme with the orange lightning bolt flash on the bare metal, you are dating yourself, my friend (BIG grin). The younger tykes have no clue about what you are referring to. I post one of my 60s era KBUF shots every now and then, and when I do the Boomer age viewers get a nostalgia jolt. I'll look for one of those to share here, but usually they are so faded and quality-degraded they aren't really viewable unless I use PS to revive them.

PS is a WONDERFUL tool. Pretty much anything I took on film/slide needs tweaking to a greater or lesser extent. I had to check back on Google images(quicker than going through numerous websites) to refresh my memory of the orange lightning bolt. I knew I'd seen it but needed that refresh and found pics of Electras wearing it - now we're talking!

Great shot from 2015! AA does have a Chrome Retro aircraft out as of recently. I believe it is on N921NN.
