perfekt!!!
Excellent catch, Gary! 5*!
beautiful plane and nice shot Gary
Uwe, Dwight, and Fabian ...
My "Thank You" to each of you. I wanted a snap of this one for over a week and because there is only one daily arrival, I had to keep going back each day. Finally, I got the shot I'd been hoping for. ;-)
Thanks, guys.

Excellent shot Gary. A full 5
TY, Mark. ;-)
Sam, when did DHL-affiliated cargo lines stop flying in to KBUF? I am pretty certain I saw one over on the cargo ramp (just behind "Ginger" ... the old FDX 727) during my last visit there about 6 months ago. I may be wrong about seeing one; perhaps it was during a previous visit; I'll look thru my snaps from my last 3 times and I'll let you know what I find. But anyways, you say there are no more Yellowjackets landing there now??

scheduled daily flights of ABX ceased around 2010 I believe, they had the DC-9-30s and DC-9-50s here only, every once in a while a Caravan, no 737s tho
most were yellow sometimes an old Grey one that said Airborne Express in Red and White lettering

Nice job catching this one!
I found the pic, Sam. And it was taken at ORD, not BUF. I had flown from BUF to ORD and in that set of pics, there is a Yellowjacket. I thought I had clicked it at BUF before departure, but I took it right after I arrived at ORD. Oh, well, at least I knew I'd seen one somewhere (big grin).
Thnx, Greg. And btw, if you are ever going to be up in my neck of the Silver State, please let me know, k?
You're welcome, and if I ever do get up that way I'll be sure to let you know.
___S.U.P.E.R_!
gary, when you planning a buffalo trip? let me know ill take the day off
Sam, I just found out today that I'm going "under the blade" next Friday. I told the doc that I'd be up and back out snapping a/c within 48 hours ... and then ... he started LAUGHING (he really DID). He said that he doesn't have a very strong knowledge of aviation photography but he DOES know that an aviation photographer needs to be able to GET TO the place where the aircraft are in order to photograph them. Then he stopped laughing ... and he assured me that I won't be GETTING TO anywhere for quite a while.
Sounds like he will be doing a bit of "carving" (geesh, I thought Thanksgiving was LAST month) ... lol.
So, Sam, I do appreciate very, very much that you are willing to take a day off from work when I come there but Doc Sawbones here is sort of implying that I might not be able to take any photo "road trips" soon. I, on the other hand, have been GETTING TO wherever aircraft are for 65+ years, and in all that time I haven't come upon anything yet that has kept me from GETTING TO wherever they are to take clicks of them, so I'm still figuring on a "road trip" back east in February, even if I end up using my tripod as a cane, too. lol I'll keep you posted, Sam.
PS >> I caught a Navy E-6 Mercury (call sign >> "Vegan Eight-Five Heavy") landing here today. Yup, "Vegan." I listened several times to be certain I was hearing it correctly. "Vegan Eight-Five Heavy." Will post a snap soon. ;-)

Soooo excited
Dang. I am jealous! I'd absolutely LOVE being on all those flights.
But hey, a qwik qwestion ....
Are you eligible to sign up for Space-A travel on USAF birds? I know there are Hercs based at the Falls that fly out here to do training, participate in exercises, etc., because I've photographed them landing here. Maybe you could catch a ride this far (thereby saving a few $), and then keep on. OR ... maybe you can even catch a ride to Travis and from Travis catch another all the way overseas. (Just a suggestion ...)

1100 round trip for the 2 day trip...it's cheaper and more fun than direct from the states
Can't beat a nice hotel for 18 dollars a night there either!!!
I know some people in the military but I don't think I for that much pull...

Very nice. DHL truly is faster to the rest of the world.
