Boeing 707-100 (58-6970)
There are many photos of this aircraft already in the FA gallery because this former Air Force One presidential jet is now on display in the Air Park at the Museum of Flight in Washington state, but the only picture in the gallery showing this VC-137B (special variant of a Boeing 707) when it was in actual use as SAM 970 is this old Kodak 620 film snap I took at JFK in the later 1960s. Although this aircraft was the first actual jet to be used as the POTUS's Air Force One, by the time I snapped it here at Kennedy it had been replaced by SAM 26000. When I clicked it; however, it was still being used for official government trips and it was designated SAM (Special Air Mission) 970. I got another photo of it over 40 years later when I visited the Museum of Flight in 2009 and discovered it there on display in the Air Park.
