Boeing 737-800 (N916NN)
Arriving late from Dallas meant that this click of N916NN, American's Reno Air heritage livery fleetbird, was taken at "straight up high noon" as it was completing its s/final to KRNO's 16R.

Joe >> Yes. A Delta had arrived a few minutes before this one and in my shots of it the same type of window covers are being used. In the late spring, summer, and early autumn months, the angle of the sun from 11 AM until (about) 5 PM is rather intense for pilots using the parallel 16s. I've seen sheets of paper taped to portside or starboardside cockpit windows in order to block out the sun glare. These silver window "screens" in use here (and on the Delta jet) looked like the type of foldout screens people use in their cars.

Nice one Gman - I did not know Pilots would do that to the windows....good thing Redding is not served by constant Airlines, as 16/34 here are really warm....The Air tankers here, must be 'tough guys'....LOL! 2 x 4 shades + 3 peaks = 5 Star click!
