Airbus A320neo (N544VL)
VOI's N544VL rotating from 16L to begin the second half of a Guadalajara - Reno - Guadalajara (GDL-RNO-GDL) round trip route.

It is wonderful to see Volaris back in the air over (AND parked on the apron at) RNO. Service between GDL and RNO was first reduced to once a week and then discontinued entirely when our good old alarmist governor announced to the world that COVID cases were rising ... in Las Vegas (which has nothing more in common with Reno than the fact that both cities are in the same state ... separated by several hundred miles of empty desert ... and that prostitution is prohibited within the city limits of both cities ... but legal and easily available two miles in any direction). Ah, but I digress (lol). Volaris is back; Allegiant is back; Frontier is back; AA and UA are again flying Airbus and Boeing paxliner equipment here. And passenger traffic at RNO is back into the thousands.
Absolutely super photo. Like the accompanying story, but envious of so much traffic heading in and out of RNO, with or without prostitutes - grin.
Welcome back to Reno Volaris! Very nice capture, Gary! Is that the America West retro I see in the bottom left corner? It is so unfortunate that our politicians have kept us in lockdown longer than was nectary, but that is a discussion for another time...
Gavin >>> BIG grin ... :))
Dwight >>>> Dang!! Great eye, man! That sure 'nuff is AAL's American West heritage paint (barely visible) back there. (How'd you see it? Hardly any part of it in view in this shot. Kudos.) But it being here was not my #1 "goal" that day. My top priority capture that day was N220FR, "Finn the Tiger Shark." Ever since you posted that great pic of it and added the info about the "Fly Frontier" livery, I've been watching for it, and when I saw it was coming here from KDEN I decided to make it a spotting day. Got up at 4:35 and was at RNO by 5:25 to start catching the morning traffic. Stayed there (at various spotting positions airside inside the fence) until 2:10. Brutal hot by the time Finn got here (air temp hit 99F and on the open taxiways it was in the 120s) but I got Finn, this Volaris, that America West scheme, and Horizon's Retro schemebird. Fun day, but by 2:10 I was melting and after 8+ solid hours out there I'd had enough.

Fabulous Photo Gary!
