Boeing 737-800 (N36272)
United's N36272, the well known "Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker" special paint, is a couple of heartbeats away from touching down on KRNO's completely reconstructed and newly reopened 16R as it arrives from KDEN during the noon hour today (29 Oct 21) to make its first-ever visit to Reno Tahoe International.

I arrived back home from a two-week aviation photo road trip just in the nick of time. Got back late yesterday and discovered that UA was finally - FINALLY - bringing the awesome Star Wars special livery here today for its very first visit to RNO. So I scooted to RNO today and when I positioned for the snap as it arrived, I was even more pleased to see those colorful autumn leaves on the trees in the background. So it was a SUPERB trip but I'm glad we got back here in time to get this click.
The only regret I have is that we missed the visit to RNO of the New England Patriots B767. We had departed on our trip only 55 minutes before it landed here. Had I known it was coming, we would certainly have delayed our departure in order to be at RNO to snap it. But "would haves" and "should haves" mean zilch -- we weren't here and so we missed it. But from everything I've heard in the past 20 hours since our return, no one else around here got it either except one photog who just happened to see it as it was on s/final and snapped it touching down.
