All the other heritage schemebirds in American's fleet have the titles of the former airlines on them so I never quite understood why AA did not put Reno Air titles on this one. And I have also wondered why there is no special heritage US Air livery to pay tribute to US Airways' former identity before it became US Airways and now American. Of course, with the tremendous monetary losses being suffered by every airline around the globe, I'm sure there won't be any new special heritage / retro paint schemes appearing. No airline is going to have the $$ to spend on such things as a unique one-of-a-kind livery.

I believe it's all about the tail art, Reno Air didn't have their name on the tail. The other retro paint scheme's originally had their names on the tail as well as on the fuselage. I don't believe AA put the names of the heritage airlines on their fuselages.

@ jaxstrw ..>>.. I believe you are 100% correct. Your theory explains it quite accurately, and I had never even noticed the fact you have just pointed out. I have posed my question (regarding why this one does not show the Reno Air name like the other heritage schemes do) to many people (INCLUDING a few who are AA employees) and not one person offered the explanation you just offered. You are absolutely right; it IS all about the tail art, and of all the heritage special schemes, Reno Air is the only one that did not have its name on the tail. Jaxstrw, I am very appreciative to you for finally providing me with the answer to a question that I, and others here in Reno, could not figure out. Gary, It took me awhile to figure it out too. I personally wish they would do the complete paint scheme, but I don't think the advertising department would be on board with that. Keep looking up.
