BOEING 777-300 (A6-EGG)
This is Emirates Airline Flight 2627 a Boeing 777-31H Copenhagen to Columbus over Cleveland OH. 25,000 ft 500 mph making a turn south on its descent to Columbus. 9:55 am 10.04.21. This is a 1 in a 100,000 pic for me do to the ice crystals and angle of the sun.

Great shot!
wow so awesome
Great catch, John!
Gorgeous!
Hi, friend. I'm very sorry not to understand ...
It seems that the sunlight is hitting the airplane from its left side, okay.
I cannot understand how it is possible that the shadow of the vertical stabilizer is projected on the ice crystals.
Perhaps it is that I am trying to look at the photo with the eyes of a person who has taken photos for more than thirty years.
Greetings.

Very interesting photo! Must be the vacuum created above the wings that causes the condensation instead of compression under the wings? Atmosphere must be just perfect to create such an effect. Very cool!
Javier, the shadow is from the horizontal stabilizer, not the vertical. The aircraft is banked in a right turn putting the sun rays on the bottom of the aircraft. Great shot, one in a million.
John, this shot is absolutely amazing!
I think ve4gls has the correct explanation. The low pressure zone above the wing is causing the condensation to form. Lighting angles and dewpoint at that altitude are just right to make it all vividly visible. So cool!

As others have mentioned, the shadows are quite strange so I'll just ask; John, is this seen as shot or somehow altered? Nice photo either way!
I have a simular shot of a fedex plane ,Phil is right. its the horizontal .not the vertical stabilizer .
Chemtrails!!!
Superb.
Great pic. We had freight on the outbound flight from LCK.
John..........
You definitely were in the right place at the right time.
One of the better pics I've seen from 25000ft & up.

Nicely done
I disagree with the previous comments that suggest the shadow is coming from the horizontal stabilizer. In my opinion, the sunlight is coming from above the left side of the aircraft (right side of the photo). The condensation layer is at wing level, near the bottom of the aircraft. The camera is looking upward, through the layer of condensation, at the vertical stabilizer that extends far above it. The shadow of the vertical stabilizer is thus cast downward and to the right of the aircraft (left side of the photo) onto the condensation layer below it.
The condensation layer does seem to be slightly below the horizontal stabilizer, so there is a small shadow cast by it, visible very near the edges of the horizontal stabilizer. But the very large shadow is from the vertical stabilizer, I think.
Regardless, it is a spectacular photograph! I am not sure I've seen a condensation layer quite as wide and uniform as that one. Stunning!

Beautiful Shot. Unbelievable!
Great shot of my favorite airframe!
amazing!!
To all this shot has not been altered or tweeked as asked by one user. I have the raw data to prove my case. any bets on it ????
Excellent
I’d give you 5 stars just for all the information you provided!
Give me copyright... this is so cool!
show
Please.Where the picture was taken from? Another plane?
pic taken from strongsville oh with telescope
Looks like Chris "Contrail" Collinsworth might have some serious competition for excellent high altitude photos
astonish...
+1 to Ken Menningen's theory/explanation
Amazing snapshot!
Photo Shopped?? Monkeyed with?
nice
