Boeing 737-200 (N741AS) - KSJC - apprx June 1987/88 while the new Terminal A was being built at San Jose,- the long term parking lot was moved out on the tarmac and fenced off. I immediately started using the lot with my pick up truck and ladder in the back bed, parking 3-5 rows back to beat the nosey Cops. I had very little interference here taking photos for the 3+ years it took to build terminal A - many days of the week out here filming, Cops would drive by and keep going. On this photo, Alaska 737-200 Combi was into San Jose most likely from Seattle or Portland and we saw this jet frequently along with N742AS sister ship, both running passengers - and I also saw this jet or 742AS at SFO sometimes when filming there. Taxi by here for Terminal C on a mid morning arrival at San Jose.

It's been so long since you last posted; I was pretty certain you'd run out of pics and/or retired your camera.
***** here. Always loved the 732s. Fabulous crackling sound when they went past while taking off w/the throttles firewalled.

Nice shot Tom.

What is it with security that can see what you're doing IN PLAIN SIGHT and have to hassle the crap out of people just enjoying a hobby? It's not as if there's anything secret at a civilian airport or that you're hiding in bushes to suddenly pop up to grab a shot and disappear.

In some places here we have the same issues. Yep, if you get in the way or endanger lives, infrastructure or aircraft, certainly you should expect trouble. Sometimes I think uniforms just go to people's heads and they get on their little power trips.

Thank you Gman____I'll never run out of photos.... :) I appreciate the email

Gavin: Thank you - yes, agreed on all, I was very lucky on most airports over the years no attitude got me in trouble, LAS was the best and Phoenix is Tops...LAX usually OK, but depending where we were...could get a visit, SFO worst, but they finally left me alone after several run ins and my complaining to Sgt on duty. YVR in Vancouver BC now has a great photo platform open to the public south terminal and Ive posted many older photos on their Google map page. Thank you and Gman for the comments.

Great shot and history Tom!
Currently incorrect photo for the tail number, which is currently reg. to a Challenger 3500 for Airshare.

Mizzou Aviation Line Service please go back and delete your comment as by now you should know you made a rookie error.......if you are under 17yrs old...it's Ok,,,but remove your comment because you are incorrect. If you want to learn something, use RZjets database and look up the reg number and you will see,.....they are 2 different jets.....and there are hundreds of the same Reg numbers used w/FAA permissions over the last 60 years....do some research. RZjets is an excellent site and doesnt have all of the BS of other reg sites,
