Wow!
One lucky catch at LAX...
Amazing, not much of these around!
A rare bird indeed!
This bird is registered in Bermuda, a favorite of the Russian oligarchs. The 747SP is no longer in airline service.
Very cool! 5* for that catch
Iran Air operates SP's.
Ummmm Daniel, Iran Air's SPs are in storage from what I understand....
Iran Air Air certificate not to be renewed, Check Sam Chui's tour page where a special THR to THR flight and other aircraft types tour is being organized now. http://samchui.com/category/aviation-tour/#.V3QGOI-cGM8
Latest news from Iran: Unfortunately, due to a dispute between Iran Air and Iran CAO, the Iran Air last Boeing 747-SP did not receive extension permission to continue commercial flight. It has only received permission to fly to Damascus. It doesn't look possible to fly on her on any regular flights now, such a shame....
However, a group of friends in Iran have fought hard to retain "1" cycle on the Boeing 747-SP, they're organizing a true farewell flight from Tehran to Tehran on November 15th. I was told the pricing will be significantly LOWER due to good negotiation. Once I receive more information, I will post on here. Fingers crossed!
****SP NEVER DIES****
