so much for non-fading paint as SWA claims...
Looks like a swap-out nose that came from a bird that had not yet been reclothed. I suppose this is a situation that can be expected to occur during the transition period but I hope SW finishes repainting all the birds in their flock quickly because that old livery always faded badly and if SW is going to use replacement parts from other fleetbirds the contrast between the old and the new really detracts. I saw the same type mismatched paint situation occur on AWE's aircraft until the entire fleet got rebranded with AA colors.
I like the new AA colors...even the AWI crj-200s look sharp
But I do miss the old us airways black/grey jets...

You are so right, Sam ... that dark paint AWE used to wear was great and I miss it, too! Oh, I understood the reasons why AWE did away with the dark and went to white, but I mourned the change when it happened. And although I am not a big fan of the present AA scheme, I can say for certain that the former Cactus fleetbirds look lots better now dressed in AA clothes than they did before the "merger."
Last week I was excited to see N733UW the AWE A319 painted in the Pittsburgh Steelers paint...disappointed to see it's already been repainted in the new AAL colors...
Gary...there is a 319 I see a lot in AWE colors that has a white cowling...really looks bad...hope it gets painted soon
