I've always thought that the L-1011 was the better looking Tri-engine wide bodyy made in the USA

They were wonderful planes. In the 70's my parents lived/worked in Saudi Arabia and I went to school in Rome. During that time I regularly flew Saudia between Rome and Riyadh on these planes, very possibly this exact one.
I agree. I saw one in Las Vegas about six months ago and it is still a beauty!
I have a few thousand hours flying one, probably the nicest flying aircraft up to and including the 747-400
