Stellar Pic J Morgan...........
Hard to believe this plane was found in a field across from Basler Aviation Oshkosh (20 miles from where I live).

Why did the C-47 need such and enormous tail and rudder?
I see one of these often (with D-day stripes) in Palm Springs, CA (as it is a flying part of the air museum). It is quite impressive and I can’t even imagine what it looked like when the skies were filled with them.
My first DC-3, Seattle to Spokane in 1948.
My last DC-3, Kona to Maui in 1962. Both scheduled.
