After a lot of false starts and bad publicity didn't these turn out to be great beast. Pity upgrades can't go on forever coz we'd still have them.

the USAF contracted with Grumman in 1972 to convert 42 existing F-111As into electronic warfare aircraft. The EF-111A (Raven) can be distinguished from the F-111A by the equipment bulge atop their tails.

So this IS NOT a EF-111A Raven, seen at

King's description got it almost right, F-111C Aardvark. Maybe FA 'type' issue as occasionally happens? The RAAF only had Cs including four A models acquired to replace four lost aircraft. The four As were all converted to Cs.

@a mentor Please note the title is from Flightaware. Nothing I can do about it. Most non-commercial planes, Flightaware got it wrong.

Royal Australian Air Force had a number of F-111Gs serving with RAAF no 6 sqn. Also an aditional number were used as a source for spares. The ADF serials military group has the details and the manufacturers serial numbers.

@King I believe you, but sometimes getting the type correct can trip FA into finding the correct title -- best wishes.
