FLEET PT-26 Cornell (N1777)
On static display June 11 at the Greenwood lake airshow

N1777 May have been a PT26 when it was built, but in its current configuration it is a PT19. A PT 26 has a sliding canopy over both cockpits and a single exhaust which incorporates a “hot tube” to provide heat for the cockpit heater.
I looked at the picture and said to myself PT-19 then read the caption and was mistrusting myself.. Glad you cleared it up.
N1777 - Constructed as a 1942? PT-19A-FA by Fairchild at Hagerstown, MD, USA.

I owned a PT-19 'termite hotel' back in the late 50's. Fun to fly. That inverted engine used almost as much oil as it did gas!
