I was SAR Aircrew at CGAS San Fran, good ole days of HH-52, 1979-1982. Looking at that crew member, I wonder how difficult it must be with such small space to work in. I still wonder why CG stopped with amphibious helicopters, I personally had 3 rescues that could not have been done without water landing, (unless Co-pilot got wet, but we did not always have a Co-pilot) I get it they now have swimmers, but to me that increases a risk and decreases the usable payload. Semper Paratus!
