Perfect timing of catching the tires still in the smoke. What were you using??

Thanks Lee. I use a Canon 7D with a 70mm-200mm f2.8 L lens. With my cropped sensor I have a bit more reach but at this location the planes are quite close anyway. They just don't use these runways that often, so when they do I always take a few more pics than usual. 7 frames per second helps too, so I just try to time it and snap a burst then I just pick one in post. Shooting through a fence at most locations around YYZ so I snap off a few just to make sure. Got lucky here!

If you guys want to some excellent quality video of tires smoking down a runway, go to YouTube and punch in Simon Lowe. He did one in slow motion called Morning Arrivals. Up close and personal with the mains on a variety of birds at Manchester in England. Absolutely fascinating to watch!
