Here's something you don't see everyday. A float plane takeoff from concrete runway Mitchinson's Flight Centre in Saskatoon launching its Cessna 185 Float Plane. (www.youtube.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Happy they did not have to return to land but how did it get there?
I suppose they could have used the South Saskatchewan River for a return. Not very deep this time of year.
Landed on the concrete if there was no grass to land on happens on occasion. I have seen one in person do it. Also have seen them take off from grass after having it wet down for them. You use a pick up with a rope to get it going the release the end to the AC and off it goes.
Don't know but perhaps it was converted from a land version.
Have seen one land on concrete due to a gear malfunction was a 206 with retract gear in the floats. Just ground a little off the keel no other damage. Was the Nordstrom family out of Seattle a number of years back. Got off and waited for there folks in the family jet to pick them up.
