its common for 2 give an incorrect N number during flight. when you fly multiple planes it can get confusing on what N number your flying if it aint writ on the panel. so they prolly just parlayed this bit of idiom and filed from panama city as 956ka instead of 950ka but it looks like the 2 are one and same. if challenged by atc they could just so " ohh sorry abut that Im really 950ka" and get on down the road. atc aint gonna say nothin, Ive done it several times by mistake but they did it intentionaly.
Anyone know?, in situations like this do they ask the FAA permission for an aircraftid that does not match their tail number? or do they "accidentally" write 6 instead of 0 on paperwork? or do they set a transponder to broadcast n956ka? How does "N956KA" get in the ASDI feed if 956KA is not their NNumber and the aren't an airline with an ICAO code of "N95"?
Looks like she headed for the other crazies in California. Finally we got her out of Florida.
Robert, thanks for the info... I didn't know that some of this could be looked up like you have pointed out.
See, some learnin HAS been gleaned from this, are you sticks-in-the-mud happy or you want to poo-poo some more?

I suppose someone on here has already tried to find ATC transmissions and couldn't find any?
It's important because it's fun. Look at it like a scavenger hunt, or a hare and hound contest. Some folks think those things are fun and don't act like party poopers. Ask yourself why you would be commenting on something that you don't care about.
