I have one big fat Greek question (I'm Greek, LOL). Why is the intentional shooting down of an airliner considered a "crash"? Did it miss an approach, hit inclement weather, flame out, or stall? Any of these, yes, but a missile tearing you to shreds is not a crash, at least per my understanding.
Never really thought about it but it came out of the sky and hit the ground, killing everybody. What should it be called??
How about a terrorist attack? I'm thinking it was already destroyed before it the ground?
Well, it still crashed. This is not verified but here is a link to a video supposedly of it coming down. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DaQzMv89eeo
Actually that video supposedly isn't MH17 according to this post.
Dear non-russian speaking youtube members. This is not Malaysian plane downed in Ukraine. On this video you can see the Ukrainian military plane AN-30 downed by pro-russian separatists a couple of days before MH-17 accident.

Well, like I said, it wasn't verified and I don't speak Russian. It was sent to me. I'll still call MH17 a crash, regardless of cause.
I'm not arguing but from what I saw on other videos of different aircraft, the term they used was "shot down". Anyway, it's great chatting with you. I read your posts all the time and enjoy what you have to say. I'm off to work so have a great day.
10-4, LOL, don't work too hard.
Just in the For What it's worth dept. It was shot down but when it impacted the ground, it became a crash.LOL
