Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon (93-0549) - Hey buddy, have you seen a gas station flying around here? Hows this going to work if we go to electric fighter planes? (Its not) South Carolina Air Guard F-16 performing at Purdue Aviation Open House 04-13-24. Pulling up on a Grissom AFB Air Tanker 62-3518

The greatest part of life is change. There was a time when everyone was convinced that human flight was impossible. And the Wright Brothers could not have possibly envisioned aircraft the size of a B747 or A380 would ever come into existence. Nor could they have ever envisioned the Concorde and supersonic flight.

Nice to see the type of ARW plane my son works on in action

Echoing a comment below. Would the Wright brothers ever have envisioned this type of capability? Perhaps but they'd still have been thunderstruck IMHO! Great photo.

Great Shot......

I was too young to remember but my home city of Cincinnati would be treated to the sonic booms from Bunker Hill AFB (now Grissom) Convair B-58s. This was like summer of 1963-1964 roughly. The newspapers would publish the approximate times so the population wouldn't freak out.

"I believe that the money spent on that was not utilized in the best possible way. Perhaps, there are other ways that could have provided more value for the investment."

Looks like mama plan and baby plane!

Dennis Miller ~ Maybe if you look at it as a training flight, perhaps that is how they justified spending the money? Our pilots do need the training. In a case like this, it is a win-win (unless you as a taxpayer don't believe we need a military in this country)?

This reminds me of 9-11 when the Air Force was running race tracks over NYC for weeks. You would look up and see the tanker at at least 30,000 feet and the little speck of a fighter would pull up for fuel.
Scary times

Similar situation when the President visits NYC, his Delaware home, and places he visits. I've seen 3 escorts with a tanker over NYC when the UN was having a big shindig last year. Tough one to spot and photograph at the same time. This shot a big 10 vote. Oh, I forgot members are still using the same outdated scale 0-5.
