Boeing 757-200 (N409UP)
The shadow that runs straight across the bottom of the fuselage is a dead giveway as to where the sun was when this UPS B752 freighter began its climb away from 16L -- just as the full light from the sun that has completely risen above the Virginia Range Mountains illuminates the GSR Casino and the Truckee Meadows, UPS's N409UP is on its way to Ontario (KONT), CA.

AND ... I had a pleasant surprise yesterday morning, too. For the first time in over 4 YEARS, I met a northern Nevada/Truckee, CA-area spotter who actually left the car behind and walked .... yes, I said WALKED ... to a spotting location to get some clicks. That's right; I met a person who is actually SERIOUS about aviation spotting. I thought I was the last one of the species and when I died the species would be extinct around here. And even better -- this person takes SUPERB pics. Not an ambulance chaser like the other one and not a paparazzi; this person understands and respects the guidelines that are expected of spotters in Nevada. There is the real possibility that I will soon be hosting a tour of the 30 RNO spotting locations for a local spotter instead of for out-of-area visiting spotters. Time will tell, but I am optimistic. (BIG smile)
