Hi, Viv. Sorry for the late reply. Just now saw your question. The colors change. After this multicolor display, each individual color is displayed but in varying intensities and shades of that color for each separate fountain. For instance, when it is "Green's turn," all the fountains are green but in slightly differing shades of green. It really is quite neat to view.
