Well, Cairns YBCS, at just 17S Latitude has certainly changed since I flew my endorsement on the F27 there way back in June of 1982(during the Falklands War). That is a massive canoe fairing under the forward fuselage of the Challenger. Not surprised that they needed to add ventral strakes under the aft fuselage to maintain acceptable directional stability...
