Dynamic, almost wartime era looking shot of an Allison powered P-51 that you don't get to see to often.

#13 is the North Amarican A-36 Apache. The North American A-36 was the ground-attack/dive bomber version of the North American P-51 Mustang, from which it could be distinguished by the presence of rectangular, slatted dive brakes above and below the wings. A total of 500 A-36 dive bombers served in the Mediterranean

Definitely a P-51A - A-36's have 50 cal. 'chin' guns.
Reminds me of the Reno Air Races in the 70s with Mike Loaning and his beatiful P-51. Thanks for the memory.
