These aircrafts are not seized but frozen. It means they still belong to their owners. Once the sanctions lifted the aircrafts return to their rightful owners. Regarding maintenance i am not worried, business jet manufacturers want to keep their clients happy and will make all the necessary efforts to supply maintenance staff and parts through their foreign dealerships where ever are the jets grounded. Harbouring countries will be happy to charge parking fees and maintenance to their guests. So many countries are not enforcing these sanctions and will be more than happy to be “middlemen” in any lucrative deals. During the Falkland war, even after sanctions were imposed on Argentina, French arm manufacturers kept supplying weapons to Argentina via Brazil. The same was done for Saddam Hussein when he invaded Koweit. Business is business. Nobody knows but 2 huge oil and gaz deals were signed by France and Germany with Russia while the war is going on in Ukraine. The gaz flows throug

It’s funny how the conspiracy theorists of yesterday become the truth revealers of today.

If you look at the airline traffic between Europe and the Far-East and flying over Russian territory at 1:30 pm today, you ‘ll see the enormous amounts of Chinese, UAE, Far-Eastern and Russian airlines. I have a screen shot which doesn’t lie. The hypocrisy of this situation shows well when you see DHL cargo plane flying across Russia. DHL is a German logistics company but they have a contract with Aviastar with Russian Tupolev registered aircrafts. So no sanctions for them. Flight 4B9601 is flying over Russia east bound at this time. For insurance purpose they won’t fly over Ukraine but pass north or south of the border.

MH17 may have been shot down by an Ukrainian missile. You may have missed the latest results of the investigation. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10550567/Buk-missile-type-used-shoot-MH17-spotted-Ukraine.html The constructor of the BUK missile confirmed MH17 was shot down by an older model BUK 1 operational in Ukraine. Russia does not have anymore this type of missile. They used the BUK 2 at the time of the accident. Photos of BUK 1 in Ukraine have resurfaced. https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-35706048

They can fly to all destinations east of the European Union to The Behring Strait. It's about 2/3 of the world population with the most industrious nations located in the Mumbai-Seoul_Singapore triangle. Remember Turkey a NATO ally did not close its skies to Russian airlines so Africa is direct for Russian airlines. Just check Radar24 map or flight aware and you'll see the density of Russian flights east of Europe while European flights for the Far-East are grounded or have to re-route by Anchorage adding 2.5 hours. At today's jet fuel price, it's not good.

It's not a problem. Air China, China Eastern, Hainan Airlines or any far-eastern airlines will repatriate them for free via Beijing, Shanghai or Chengdu.
