Though this was a sad and tragic event, Captain Shults did a superb job of airmanship in getting the plane and the passengers safely on the ground. Rest in peace to the deceased passenger.

This is a situation that could have been a lot worse had those ARFF vehicles been traveling closer together. The Captain of the aircraft did a superb job of keeping that aircraft under control. Someone on that airfield is going to be in trouble. The fact that they are building a new runway complex should have required more clear taxiway markings. The fact that NO AIRPORT EXERCISES are supposed to be held on active runways at any time shows there was a breakdown in communication. I learned as a kid the first rule ... STOP, LOOK BOTH WAYS, LISTEN... There is no excuse for ARFF drivers NOT to at least check the runway for traffic landing or taking off. Apparently they even held the flight crew in custody overnight while investigating this incident for manslaughter. HOWEVER, the flight HAD been cleared from takeoff. I read where the black boxes from the plane AND the ARFF vehicles have been sent in for evaluation.

I have seen that first hand... Always mesmerizing flying over downtown.

You are absolutely correct. Just 2 days ago at O'Hare in Chicago. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after an American Eagle pilot suffered a medical emergency shortly after taking off from O'Hare International Airport this past Saturday night. The pilot of American Eagle (Envoy) Flight 3556 later died at an area hospital. The plane had 57 passengers plus the crew, NONE of which would have survived if the pilot was the only one in the cockpit. This asinine plane should never have even been considered.

When I read accident reports I often notice that the pilots sometimes do not realize what is happening with the instruments. Juan Browne of blancolirio says, "Aviate, navigate, communicate". Pilots need to do more manual flying, especially on domestic flights. Since the crews don't get paid till the aircraft doors close, maybe the flight crew should STOP getting paid when the autopilot is switched on.

The TSA was hastily formed with no REAL training. Almost like the last President's Space Force. Hmmm, now there's a mission for the Space Force. We did not need a NASA clone, so put Space Force to work staffing TSA, and disband the TSA once and for all. The least the Government should do is to be able to give the American people their money's worth.

One would think this plan would be defrayed until AFTER the Christmas shipping season. People are spending more than last year, so shipping should spike during December. I'm sure that all the Cargo airlines will probably notice a downturn. It had to end sometime.

We all know that this agency has probably been instructed by The Supreme Leader to rubber stamp all inspections and declare the fleet airworthy. When they start dropping like flies, instead of saying shoddy maintenance and substandard parts are causing crashes, they will probably go 50-50 on pilot error and sabotage. It's too bad the Russian people probably don't know the truth, or those planes would be empty of passengers.
