That panel could have fell off anytime between the Netherlands and Kenya.
The article says it came off shortly after departure. Maybe the crew heard an unusual noise or the falling panel appeared as a blip on radar. If it’s the latter, finding it should not be that difficult.
Yes but if you heard something unusual then why didn’t they return to the field they just took off from. Two if it was a blimp on radar then they know just about where it is.
