The black continent? You may want to do a bit of research before writing an article. You make yourself seem both uneducated, and racist.
Yes I was going to mention that....language from the 70s I guess
It was referred to as the Dark Continent in books and films for a long time, but why someone would call it 'the black continent' is beyond me. And I found no reference to such language.
I'm thinking that being based out of Montreal, they may just have used the wrong translation from an original French write-up. "Noir" can mean either "dark" or "black".
Also believe that they found it later or heard about it from readers and replaced it with an alternate descriptor. Now reads "in the rapidly growing continent".

I don't think they're native-english speakers; they often refer to "aircrafts", for example.
