Boeing Awaits Fallout of U.S. Withdrawal from Iran Deal
The Trump administration’s decision Tuesday to withdraw from the 2015 accord known as the Iran nuclear deal appears likely to cost Boeing some $8 billion worth of airliner sales to the Islamic Republic. So having read the deal, what’s wrong with giving Iran back their $400m prepayment for the US not delivering the warplanes they said they would in 1981. Never mind the $12 billion in asstets the US froze subsequent to the Republican National Guard fiasco in 1979. OR the $1.2mil in interest owed Iran from the accrued interest from the non refunded $400 m. The reality is that the US struck a deal for Iran to curtail uranium enrichment for a nukes and allowing them to get their own money back, subject to many on site inspections.
Because the money for the warplanes was from an ally, and not hostile government. You don't give capital to a terrorist regime. Period. The money came from the Shah not the current regime that over threw him. And since that money does not belong to the current government, it is not owed them. In over simplistic terms, if the new Iran hadn't been so dead set to destroy Israel and stopped spouting all the US hate speech and played ball on the world stage, they'd have all that money back but, holding that money from them is no different than what we did to Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Iran wants to try to bully the world with nukes, guess what, they are sitting VERY close to Israel, and they have never lost a war in their 70 year history against MUCH bigger forces, sometimes against multiple countries. Iran is right to fear Israel.

But given Trump’s hawkish views on Iran before he took office, Boeing always saw the deals as tenuous. It has not delivered any airplanes and never firmly booked the orders.”

“Since the deal was cleared, Airbus has delivered three jets, one A321 and two leased A330s, to Iran. But Airbus likely won’t be able to take further competitive advantage. U.S. sanctions will probably bar further deliveries of Airbus planes to Iran because all of the jets contain a significant amount of U.S. parts.
The U.S. Treasury Department, which controls licensing of exports, said the United States after a 90-day wind-down period will no longer allow the export of commercial passenger aircraft or parts to Iran.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said Tuesday that the licenses granted to Airbus and Boeing under the original Iran deal will be revoked.”
So it’s a wash.

Its not like they couldn't see this one coming. Get with it Boeing and sharpen your pencils. There are only 190+ other countries to deal with.
I have to wonder how many commenters actually read the entire deal that the Obama administration had signed. I'm not talking about the short press release that was put out for most citizens but actually your congressional leader for the entire document. Once you do you will quickly see what this was a bad deal for the United States.
