An American Airlines passenger who allegedly punched a flight attendant could face up to 20 years in prison
An American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger allegedly punched a flight attendant in the face, 10 News WTSP reported. According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, the incident took place on Friday, March 2, aboard an American Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Dallas, Texas. Good.
No, not good. This guy obviously has some severe mental health issues. This was not a premeditated attempted murder (which is what 20 years max sentence in Texas). This is a guy who should be banned from flying for life (which he is I think), pay some form of restitution for punching the flight attendant and having the flight make an emergency landing, and be put into involuntary psychiatric treatment.
That's probably what will happen. Most of the time in these cases they get probation and a fine, and some kind of ban.
The guy is schizophrenic in all likelihood. If he is not, he will find a shrink to say he is, give him some pills and he will walk with some type of probation.
