Enviado

An Air Canada flight was grounded for several hours Wednesday morning after a cat got loose in the airplane and hid in the cockpit. File this under "weird or what!". (www.thestar.com) Más...

LOL, I saw this on the news yesterday. Couldn't help but picture a steaming mad captain standing by while the lady calls her cat for 3 hours.

Being a Mechanic and knowing that Cockpit in and out and upside down for nooks and crannies, I can see this chase for the scared cat for a while. He could easily have gotten himself down inside the Belly Avionics bay and I cannot imagine trying to get him out of there... I take it the cat is not getting many frequent flyer miles :)

We have four dachshunds and all of em togther don't smell like any cat. Never mind fur balls and the odd urea puddle. There was a time when roaches used to walz over the odd terminal...haha.

Hmm... Just read the full article and it states: “there was no real damage done.” which makes me ask... If there was no real damage done. then what damage was done. I would guess working Maint Control I would see a sign off such as:

"Removed Panels as required, Found and Remove cat from a/c, Inspected a/c for damage IAW AMM 05-50-00. Reinstalled removed panels. A/C ok for service"

For Non Maintenance Personnel IAW - In Accordance With, AMM - Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 05-50-00 is the code for Unscheduled inspections.

I am sure the maintenance personnel enjoyed this one.

So which CATegory of landing would this be, had the cat been undiscovered? Cat II? Cat III?

Headline should've been "Loose pussy in the cockpit."
What if he got loose at the movies? Would the headline be "Furball in the box office???"

Actually by looking at Ripples (the Cat)... It should have been called "Pissed Off Pussy"

Maybe they were going to use the Cat and Duck method IFR flying.
