Passenger jet lands off tarmac at Palermo airport in heavy rain, 3 slightly injured
Italian news agency ANSA says a passenger jet has landed off the tarmac at Palermo airport, and that three aboard had slight injuries. The report said a Wind Jet Airbus 300 landed at Falcone e Borsellino Airport after a flight from Rome with 143 passengers aboard during heavy rain Friday night. It said the aircraft's emergency exit chutes were activated and quoted airport officials as saying three people sustained scrapes on the head or face. (www.google.com) Más...

Off tarmac? Since when do aircraft land ON tarmac? I was taught that planes land and T/O on runways and PARK on the tarmac.
