Submitted
The Federal Aviation Administration will reduce flight capacity by 10% at 40 major airports across the country, officials announced during a press conference on Wednesday. The decision could cut thousands of flights per day. The restrictions will go into effect Friday morning, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. ABC News obtained the list of airports, which includes Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson, Boston Logan, all three New York City-area airports,… (www.msn.com) More...

As a retired controller, all I can say is this. Do you really think we'd notice the workload difference between 100 operations per hour and 90 per hour? That's the 10% reduction they're implementing. Give me a break!

Boneheaded politicians certainly, but a system that doesn’t pay essential staff who are mandated to work is ridiculous. There’s enough stress in ATC as it is without worrying about how to pay for housing, food and other necessities. It makes the USA look like a banana republic and a joke.

we who are Part 91 can jump in our aircraft and go when we want where we want (so long as it is VFR). Those who have the money to charter a 135 operator - they, too can go anytime anywhere (again - so long as it is VFR.

So who is getting screwed? The poor devvils in the middle class, stuck with going on a 121 carrier; they aren't going anywhere IFR.

As a British citizen just arrived in the States on vacation I cannot believe this situation has been allowed to happen. Talk about boneheaded politicians and I thought ours were bad enough!! (And I don’t mind an extended stay in your wonderful country)

When I go to UK the people ask me what were you and what are you people thinking ?

Talk about a bonehead

In 2013, then-businessman and reality TV host Donald Trump said: "A government shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership. I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. A shutdown means the president is weak."

That idiot Sean Dufy says they want to make the airspace safe. Stevie Wonder could see that the airspace WOULD be safe if ATC controllers were being paid like the essential personnel they are.

FAA should be considered a required department not to shut down in a government Shutdown! This is pretty bad!

Hey, look at the bright side: the administration is finally doing something about greenhouse gas emissions! 😆

In case you did not know ..it is causing current beef inflation

Cattle ranchers benefit from record beef prices
Kelly Saberi of Fox Business joins ‘Varney & Co.’ to discuss a decrease in cattle leading to a record high price of beef.

Beef prices are at a record high in the wake of a drought that left cattle inventory at the lowest level in 70 years amid strong demand, resulting in price increases for steak and ground beef.

How do you feed/water cattle when there is no water?

Which is why the orange guy wants to buy Argentine beef (well, that and to influence Argentina, and of course to make money by investing in it himself).

Its not always on the chalkboard in plain English is it... This spoiled generation raises hell when a problem is tackled head on in a single targeted event. Sometimes large events have multiple outcomes that we cant blame one action for.
We still believe what we hear and see which is strongly depended on by our shepherds. Who thinks for themselves any more.
All of those who chose their actions causing the shutdown are giggling and slapping each other on the backs behind closed doors... Good Job fellas, they believed it.... While we cry about sides..
