How is such an elementary requirement overlooked? When I was AD, they started the renewal process well in advance of my expiration. Overseeing contractors required that I stayed on top of their clearance expiration date, or it was on my butt.

With AF One being the most security-sensitive "public" project currently being undertaken, how could the AF and Boeing overlook such a critical requirement?

Does this mean we're going to have to look for FOD in the aircraft as well, just like the new tankers because Boeings oversight is obviously seriously lacking in all aspects?

How easy would it be to secretly attach some type of small spyware device to the internal wiring. The Chinese have the ability to easily penetrate any contractor...and probably already have. It's sad.

Similar to the set-up for the 1978 book By the Rivers of Babylon by Nelson Demille. 1978s tech inserted into two El Al airliners during construction. Their versions of our Air Force One. This security lapse is serious. I wonder what's going on with other US military contractors.
