SINCE OPEN CARRY,NO REGISTRATION NOR ANY GUN SAFETY TRAINING IS OK AND LEAGAL IN TEXAS,THIS IS NOT SURPRISING..I ALSO MIGHT POINT OUT THAT PEOPLE DO NOT GO THROUGH ANY KIND OF METAL DETECTOR TO ENTER A PUBLIC FACILITY SUCH AS AN AIRPORT, AND YOU ARE SCREENED ONLY AT THE ENTRY TO THE GATE AREA..
The pistol was obtained illegally as the the shooter was a convicted felon and prohibited from purchasing a firearm. She broke multiple laws before she ever pulled the trigger.
The problem isn't firearms the problem is we have a mental health crisis that the government created. There is no system in place to ensure those with mental health issues receive treatment as 99% of mental health resources are outpatient based. If the person doesn't seek treatment on their own they are left to wander the streets adding to the homeless crisis until it is too late.

Gee, according to that story it was the officer who shot her who was taken into custody.

Shows you how lax US gun control truly are. I don't against having personal firearms but compare to other country such as Sweden and Switzerland, US gun laws are lax at about who can have and keep guns...
Exactly what gun law would have stopped her, considering all the laws she DID break. What possible law would have made her say, "Oh, no, I don't want to break THAT law."
