Two F-15 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept a small plane that entered restricted airspace around Seattle, where President Obama is visiting. The jets caused a pair of sonic booms shortly before 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET).
The unidentified small plane left the restricted area before the jets, from Portland Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing, arrived, a spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command told the AP. Air Force One had landed earlier at Boeing Field, The Seattle Times says.
Obama is in the area to stump for Sen. Patty Murray.
