Throughout the years people, enthusiasts, students, private pilots, etc, have enjoyed the liberty of being able to access charts free online. This will have a large effect on the iPad/Tablet market of apps based around charts for pilots. This action will also put a financial burden on the flight instructors, pilots and students; and change the way in which these charts are administered to the general public. Depending on the proposed price, only larger companies will be able to afford these charts, whereas smaller companies and organizations will be left scratching their heads. This would change the way free online organizations, like VATSIM or IVAO operate, having to pay for US Charts which they would normally be able to access for free. This would take a large hit on the flight enthusiast and prive pilot community, and would be detrimental to those who use them as their only source of charts and information.
