Delta Opens New Exclusive Business Class Check-In Area

BY LUKE WIROSTKO 06/03/2023 AGO 19 COMMENTS

This week, Delta Airlines debuted a brand new space at LAX as part of the continuing facility upgrades at one of the airline's most prominent hubs. As part of a broader project to enhance and improve the experience for Delta passengers at LAX, the airline unveiled a new exclusive business class check-in area for Delta One business class passengers.

A One-of-a-Kind Facility

This new 4,200 square foot check-in area allows Delta One passengers to bypass the usual hustle and bustle of LAX and privately and comfortably get checked-in, clear security, and make themselves comfortable in the Lounge.

As such, the exclusive area contains the following:

  • Light drinks and snacks.
  • Private check-in counters with a team of Delta customer service agents standing by.
  • A private TSA security lane.
  • A private elevator leads passengers right up to the Delta Sky Club.

Travelers need a Delta One ticket to access this elite space. In other words, those booked on Delta's Long Haul business cabins and business class passengers traveling on premium transcontinental routes, such as LAX to New York-JFK, can access this unique space.

Delta 360 Medallion Members, an invite-only elite status tier above the top-level Diamond Medallion, are also eligible to use this space.

This new check-in area further presents Delta as a "premium" airline. Delta is doing what no other US-based airline is doing by providing a dedicated luxury experience for top-paying customers directly from the curb.

Delta has been revamping its operations at LAX for the last several years as part of a project to replace its old, outdated, and disjointed concourses with gleaming new terminals. The airline plans to open a new Sky Club, build a Sky Way connecting their operations in Terminal 2 and 3, and debut a brand-new Delta One Lounge dedicated entirely for Delta One Passengers.

This enhancement is part of Delta's $12 billion investment in critical airport infrastructure across its network. The airline plans to open a similar private Delta One Check-in at New York-JFK later this year.
