Delta crew detains male passenger after he tried to enter cockpit on a New York-bound flight shouting that he was God and he would end terrorism

A Delta Air Lines crew have detained a passenger who tried to enter the cockpit on a New York-bound flight shouting that he was God and that he was going to end terrorism.
The pilots of Flight 579 were forced to return to Puerto Rico following the incident shortly after take-off on Wednesday morning.
Police in Puerto Rico said 30-year-old Carlos Ramírez Rodríguez became aggressive and tried to enter the cockpit during the flight.

Authorities said Rodríguez was yelling: 'I am God. Tomorrow San Juan is going to disappear. I came to save the world, and I'm going to end terrorism.'
He was detained by airline crew soon after.
Police initially said the pilot had arrested him.
Authorities said the FBI is currently investigating the incident.

Delta said the Boeing 737-900ER aircraft had more than 160 passengers and six crew members on board.
The flight continued to New York and was expected to arrive two hours late following the incident.
'Delta applauds the quick action and professionalism of the crew,' the airline said in a statement.
The airline noted that some passengers also helped restrained the man.
