Excellent photo . However the aircraft is a Canadair CL-415 .

The CL-41 Tutor is a jet trainer as used by The Snowbirds.

Great photo. I don't think we real understand what it takes for those planes to refill on the "fly". Doesn't happen here in Colorado often.

The planes are huge, they have massive horsepower and the draft when they "scoop" is very thin. And yes, it is really amazing and fascinating to watch them work. We contract two of them here in Southern California for Devil Wind season. Call signs Quebec 1 and 2, they are a lethal firefighting resource...
