This is not US civilian registration N10306, this is Canadian Armed Forces 10306.
GREAT PHOTO LOOKS LIKE A MGA IN THE BACKGROUND RED ONE
C130A ??
Not an 'A' model. I would say either a C130B or a C130E. The A model had three bladed props.
I remember seeing these regularly visit LGW in the late 60’s along with the CL-44 military vairiant.
In looking at Joe Baugher's published information, I find that the Lockheed c/n for this C-130 to be absent and missing in a sequence of C-130E-LM Hercules aircraft as acquired by the U.S. Air Force... as USAF s/n 64-0536, c/n 382-4025; and as USAF s/n 64-0537, c/n 382-4027. Lockheed C-130 c/n's from 382-3979 thru 382-4090 were built as C-130E-LM types. Likely, Lockheed's c/n 382-4026, showing in Dan Tanner's photo above, was also built to a similar "C-130E" configuration for the then RCAF.
Think “mg” refers to sports car just visible above nose of plane
C130E. Remember it well as a former RCAF member stationed at then (CFB Namao) in late 60s early 70s. Will have serviced this exact (Hercules) at some point.
one of the first airplanes I worked on as an Airframe tech in the RCAF.
306 is an E model with H model wings.
